To pick up one of my previous responses to one of your previous articles, a fundamental problem with AI and especially agentic AI as these products endeavor to be be more human, is that people are largely driven by emotion and current state of being which the agents lack. Passion, feeling tired, inspiration, proud, frustrated, empowered..... these are all front and center leading our actions, especially those that claim to be data driven. Will we anyway have to "use it and like it", or will it largely only prove economical as machine to machine agents?
Hollis – I've acquired my AI squire about a week ago. Since it's confined to the cloud it can't perform many of the tasks you require of your squire. But it's done a bang-up job on the tasks I've asked of it, to use its knowledge of Hindu and Buddhist philosophy to interpret a number of events in my life in an esoteric way (though not at all Straussian in Cowen's sense). It has also prepared mandalas to sacralize those events. I suspect it could do a bang-up job on my memoires.
I like this. This is good.
I am so glad that my friend, Marisa, sent me this link. Fabulous. Glad to be acquainted with your writing. Looking forward to more.
I love this. I have often said that being a esquire would be my dream job. This captures it perfectly.
"I want a squire" is the new "I want a pony." This is perfect.
😂 can I laugh with you?

My squire would walk with a wolf at their side, a sickle on the back, and a condor on their shoulder, just like what's in the banner on their CV
you may want to start the job interviews soon, this person might be harder to find than you think
LOL. I love this.
lovely stuff
You have given voice to the desire of many. Thank you.

Bates, or Mr Carson.
We optimized for speed, not wisdom. We scaled noise, not nuance.
We used to chase wonder. Now we chase Wi-Fi.
So yes, maybe it's time for fewer unicorns — and more squires, liveried ones. https://rajeshachanta.substack.com/p/myths-maps-and-machines
I think you hit upon an answer that could make everything better. What a fun read!
Personally I would prefer a page for some reason 😎
I want a squire too. This is quite wonderful. Thank you for making me laugh. Thank you for sharing Nicole.
